Here's where the evidence actually sits. How It Works
Sulforaphane's main established action is switching on the Nrf2/Keap1 pathway. Normally a protein called Keap1 keeps the transcription factor Nrf2 penned up in the cell and tagged for destruction. Sulforaphane chemically modifies Keap1, freeing Nrf2 to enter the nucleus and turn on a battery of protective genes, including phase II detox enzymes like glutathione S-transferases and NQO1 and the machinery that builds glutathione.
